Department of Transport - PTSS Card Animation
About
The Public Transport Subsidy Scheme – or PTSS, is a brand new initiative by the Department of Transport to replace the previous Transport User Subsidy Scheme (or TUSS). The PTSS is a subsidy available to people with disability travelling in hail vehicles, or on-demand taxi’s.
Task
The Department of Transport approached us to produce two short explainer animations. The first, was this animation which explains the new PTSS card – and how it’s usage differs to the previous TUSS system. The second, showing what the average journey will look like while using your PTSS card.
These animations needed to be both educational, accessible, and most of all visually interesting. We developed this style in conjunction with Head Office Studio to bring these animations to life.
Approach
Our approach with this project required us to adhere to a tight delivery timeline. Due to this, we needed to make sure certain prerequisites like script, animation style, storyboarding etc were all complete well ahead of schedule to keep things on track.
Result
We couldn’t be happier with how this video came out, it’s a great way to communicate this shift to a new system while keeping the information accessible and entertaining. We love doing animation projects such as these as they take an entirely different skillset from the regular shoots we do. If you’d like to check out other animated content we’ve done, click HERE.
