ITERO Australia - Rendezvous Hotel Remediation

ITERO Australia invited us along to capture a small part of the larger remediation project at the famous Rendezvous Hotel.
Task
We were tasked with capturing part of the remediation process that ITERO was doing on the exterior of the Rendezvous. We needed to capture multiple processes including: patching, painting, and sanding – all while nearly 50m from the ground!
Approach
With this project it offered a unique challenge of needing to capture footage of site works that we ordinarily would not be able to access. These employees are dangling from ropes off the side of the building, and we had to figure out a method to capture the processes up close and personal.
To achieve this, we came at it with a two-pronged approach. We would capture these big epic wide shots using our drone, showing the amazing location in all it’s glory (including the incredible WA coastline), while another team member captured some handheld shots out of a hotel room balcony using a long lens.
This worked out perfectly for us as we never felt like we missed out on the action.
Result
We could not be happier with the results of this video, it highlights an incredibly cool and niche skillset within a very everyday industry. The techniques and training ITERO Australia do with their team is extraordinary.
The ingenuity of their access solutions alone is unbelievable, and we can’t wait to show you what else we have in the pipeline – so keep your eyes peeled!
